Thursday, March 10th - May 12th, 2011 - Liddicoatite & Light; science of the sacred
Downtown ArtWalk Thursday, Zzyzx Gallery will be unveiling the Los Angeles debut of Liddicoatite & Light; science of the sacred, by french gemstone artist Laurent Thomas.
Laurent personally travels to Madagascar to meet with local miners and villagers, looking for beautiful Liddicoatite Tourmaline gems. From these only the best, and most perfectly formed crystals are chosen by the artist. He looks for symetrical growth, and precise color displacment; paterns replicating the
universal forms known in art as "sacred geometry".
"This specimen is awesome and incredible for the geometric and mosaic design of colors it shows. This pattern resulted from chaotic growth episodes...
This Nature's creation really looks like a stained glass church window"Laurent Thomas, 'Nature's Garden of Crystals' pg 207
